Overview

The Idea: Soundful germinated from the proverbial two guys with a great idea. Two of the founders looked at the time to produce great, high quality music for their own personal use and thought, “can I teach the machine to do this in a reliable way?”

The Challenge

Making and producing music is hard and takes time, training and talent. In order to teach the machine to generate tracks, we had to assess and calculate the best approach to take in order to yield not only the best results, but as well balance the copyright infringement laws which are ever present in the music industry. Sometimes innovation isn’t just with technology, but as well with the approach that’s taken. In this case, we taught the machine music theory, rather than training on existing copyrighted material. Hence we were able to avoid copyright infringement

By teaching the machine how to write music from one-shot samples (ie the granular notes of an instrument), Soundful can architect some incredible tracks with the click of a button.
